It's something I think of more and more - are the advancements in data and artificial intelligence and knowledge domain in those technologies create a separate class of people who can use them to further themselves in a way that other technologies have not in the past? If the future is all about data being crunched by powerful GPUs processing AI algorithms, then what happens to those who don't follow (ore refuse to follow) and learn? This is especially the case as the technologies become weaved into everyday products. Do people need to be trained en masse? My sense is that if people don't have at least some level of understanding (as some generations would have had to with the iPhone), then I think that indeed data will really become digital gold and AI will become the private jet that carries it. The question is how will people learn or at least (if willingly so), become aware? I am sure OpenAI and others are working on these aspects as well (not just hallucinations and ethics). Will be interesting to see what happens.
